BACK IN CANADA

Having returned from their successful trip to the UK, SORA are now back in Vancouver where they played a packed homecoming gig at LanaLou's. Along with Erol fronting the band and Dave Cheeseman on Keyboards, this show marked the return of Jason Solyom on Drums and Aaron Gustafson (ex-Three Inches of Blood) on bass.

SORA IN THE UK

SORA played a one-off UK show on Tuesday Sept. 6 at The Peel in South West London.

Playing with Erol were the amazing players:
Chris Dale
on bass, Dave Cheeseman on keyboards and Gideon Letch on drums.

That night they decided to play a cover of the Ozzy Osbourne classic 'Mr. Crowley' for the first time. A brief portion of the perfromance was caught on this fan shot video.

EROL SORA RETURNS WITH NEW DESIRE!

Erol is very pleased to announce SORA's 2nd album 'Desire And Truth' has been released through Marquee/Avalon in Japan on January 20th and on Avenue Of Allies throughout Europe February 26th, 2010.

Says Erol, “I couldn't be happier to be with Marquee/Avalon and Avenue of Allies as they are great people to work with and have a genuine passion for melodick hard rock music. My aim with this album was to recapture the spirit and sound of great bands like MSG, Whitesnake, Rainbow, UFO, Gary Moore from the late '70s/early '80s era. I'd describe 'Desire & Truth' as a very heavy, guitar oriented album, yet still melodic in terms of vocals and songwriting. It's taken a long time to complete but I simply didn't want to rush this 2nd release and honestly couldn't be happier with the results. If compared to the last album, I'd say this one's heavier, more intense in terms of both vocals and guitar playing but most importantly still based on the songs first and foremost. I really hope people give it a listen.”

SORA's 1st album 'Demented Honour' released on MTM Music in 2006 received rave reviews globally and earned them a position in melodicrock.com's Top 10 New Artists of that year.

'DEMENTED HONOUR' HAS BEEN OFFICIALLY RELEASED THROUGH MTM MUSIC:

SORA, a new band featuring guitarist/vocalist Erol Sora, will officially release their debut album 'Demented Honour' on MTM Music Feb 24th, 2006.  In addition to Erol, (who some people may recognize from playing guitar with ex-Uriah Heep singer John Lawton), SORA also consists of drummer Lance Chalmers, bassist Kevin Dahl, and keyboard player Gregory Macdonald.

Says Erol, “We set out to record an album based around the songs first and foremost, yet also appeal to fans of guitar oriented hard rock. I enjoy singing and writing as much as playing guitar so this truly has been a labour of love. I would describe 'Demented Honour' as a classic album of in your face hard rock, with occasional blues, pop, and AOR elements. I think fans of Deep Purple, Thin Lizzy, Whitesnake, and KISS will really dig it.”

A limited number of promotional copies were sent out to various websites towards the tail end of 2005 to generate interest, and the reviews have been phenomenal;
